Computer Aided Design,
Then, we have a place for you!
SWARM Robotics is open to high school students in the Albany, Oregon school district. We are considered a high school club, with similar expectations for grades and behavior. We also are on the lookout for mentors, adults, whom after a background check and interview, are willing to share their skills.
What to expect:
SWARM competes in FIRST Robotics competitions. FIRST Robotics is not a shop class. We do not offer formal instruction. FIRST robotic is an opportunity for the self-motivated to work with peers and mentors in a safe, professional environment towards a shared goal.
Our team organizes our schedule around the build season and competition in Winter (Jan-March). New members are invited to sign up prior to the season. The earlier the better. Incoming 1st year students, 8th grade graduates, are encouraged to visit us prior to summer. With once a week meetings you will begin to find out where your interests lay, hone your skills, and work on team projects. Then, during build season, it is 6 weeks of daily efforts as we create a new robot and additional material for the competition.
While we rely on the generous donations of time and money from our sponsors, we do ask students to contribute as well. First year members are not expected to pay a fee, others will be asked to contribute. There is also the opportunity to work off part, if not all, of your membership fee during fundraising in the summer.
Those, of any age, who would like to visit are encouraged to contact us at email@example.com.
